St. Louis Bosnian community ready to cheer on national soccer team

International soccer returns to St. Louis on Monday when Argentina takes on Bosnia-Herzegovina.

More than 70,000 Bosnian immigrants live in the St. Louis area. And they are excited and showing their pride about their national team coming to St. Louis.

At Grbic’s Bosnian Restaurant in south St. Louis the servers will be wearing Bosnia soccer team jersey through Monday.  Owner Ermin Grbic is particularly proud the team is playing in St. Louis because one of the players, Vedad  Ibisevic lived in St. Louis for awhile.  He attended Roosevelt High School and St. Louis University and was the NCAA freshmen of the year in 2003.

Grbic predicts that at least half of the crowd to watch the game will be St. Louis Bosnians.

The game against Argentina is Monday night at Busch Stadium.
