Mosque With 60-Foot Minaret in the Works for Mackenzie Road

A Bosnian Muslim organization has purchased the property at 9528 Reavis Barricks Road, at Mackenzie Road, with the intention of building a center, according to Eric Fey, assistant to District 5 Councilman Pat Dolan.

Debi Salberg, in the county planning department said a site development plan was submitted on Aug. 15 for the St. Louis Islamic Center. She said the plan includes a building with a 60-foot high minaret.

Fey said the plan hasn’t come before the county council yet.
