Bosnian Chamber of Commerce Rallies Behind Crime Prevention

The Bosnian Chamber of Commerce is holding a crime prevention meeting Wednesday night, in wake of two deadly shootings of immigrants by alleged robbers.

Sadik Kukic has been in the United States for 20 years and says it is a scary time in the city.

“It started happening maybe a year ago, when I started seeing different things, that people are selling drugs in the neighborhood,” Kukic says.

He says immigrant residents and business owners are telling him they don’t feel safe and some are even talking about moving out of the city into the county.

“They are really upset and scared to be honest with you,” Kukic says.

Kukic hopes the Crime Prevention meeting and rally will encourage more involvement by neighbors to reduce crime and increase safety, he says.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Bosnian Chamber headquarters at 5030 Gravois.
