Eldar “Edo” Ekic was born in Bosanski Novi, Bosnia Herzegovina1991 at the dawn of the Balkan War.His family fled the conflict in 1992. After a brief stay in Germany they decided to make the long journey to Perth, Western Australia to start a new life. At age 11 Edo was encouraged by his father Izet Ekic to take up formal guitar lessons. He was schooled in Contemporary, Rock, Classical and Flamenco styles and studied Jazz for two years at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

At age 18 he discovered the Blues and was deeply moved by the great American Blues guitar masters such as; Stevie Ray Vaughen, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Freddy king (to mention a few). He began to play lead guitar in local bands and was soon discovered by the Perth Blues fraternity who invited him to perform his own show at the Perth Blues Club in Oct 2011. He was backed by the some of the most highly respected musicians in West Australian Blues:  Bob Patient (Keys), Roy Daniels (Bass) and Greg Howard (Drums).  Since then Edo has been performing with various bands throughout Western Australia and earning his reputation as one of the up & coming stars of Australian Blues.

In 2013 he is touring the United States with Fellow “West OZ” Blues Artist Moondog J:

Hailing from Denmark, Western Australia, Moondog J performs solo or as front man of the Moondog J Blues Band. He is a master of the blues harmonica and a formidable guitarist, singer/song writer. Moondog J travels annually to the United States since 2009 to explore areas where the Blues began (Chicago IL, St Louis Ms, Memphis TN, Mississippi State, New Orleans). His talent and ability to improvise with any fellow Blues players he might meet has seen him perform with some of the ‘Who’s Who’ of today’s Blues music scene – Billy Branch (Chicago, IL), Ronnie Baker Brookes (Chicago, IL), Toronzo Cannon (Chicago, IL), Mz Peachez & her Casanovas (Chicago, IL), Darryl Jones (Bass player for the Rolling Stones), Kim Massie (St Louis, MO), David Kimbrough Jnr (Holly springs, Mississippi), Big Dave and the Evil Love band (Clarksdale, Mississippi), Mojo Possum (Memphis, TN), Daddy Mack Blues Band (Memphis TN).
